Honest.   Hard Working.   Responsible.
Why you should vote for Steve Berch:

I share the same values you do here in West Boise:  honesty, hard work, personal responsibility and respect for others

I want the same things you do:

  • A thriving local economy with good paying jobs and real career opportunities
  • Keeping families together so they don’t have to move out of state to find gainful employment and raise a family
  • Great schools that prepare our children and grandchildren for the future
  • Leadership that brings people together by showing respect for others with different points of view
I am running for the seat currently held by Mr. Lynn Luker (House Seat 15A).  During his 8 years in office:

  • Major employers moved their Boise headquarters and operations out of Idaho – along with their good-paying jobs.
  • Your property taxes have increased to make up for the money he failed to protect for public education over the last several years.
  • The health and safety of good, honest citizens in true need have been put in jeopardy by lost funding for Medicaid and other vital social and community services.
Most disturbing is Mr. Luker’s introduction of the discriminatory, job-killing bills that he sponsored in 2014.  These “Luker Laws” would create a ‘freedom to discriminate’ against those who do not share a business owner’s personal beliefs.  This distasteful legislation is out of touch with the priorities and values of people living in West Boise and throughout Idaho.

In 2013, you and your neighbors elected me to serve as a Director of the Greater Boise Auditorium District.  In the six months since taking office I worked with my fellow Board members to initiate new investments that will result in millions of dollars of annual economic growth and will create hundreds of new jobs – all without raising any taxes.  These are the types of results you should demand and expect from your next West Boise Representative in the Idaho Legislature – not the pursuit of some narrow, personal agenda.

I am running to restore our pride in Idaho.  We have been let down by our local legislators who have led Idaho to be last in the nation in education, wages and basic social services. Electing the same people over and over again is not working.  It is time to elect new leaders with new ideas who will work to bring people together.

I ask for your vote as State Representative this November. It would be an honor and a privilege to serve you.
