March 2, 2016. Boise, Idaho. Steve Berch has filed to run for House Seat 15A, representing West Boise. In 2014, Berch nearly unseated eight-year Republican incumbent Lynn Luker in a close election that wasn’t decided until 7:00 am the morning after Election Day. Berch said upon filing, “It is clear that a growing number of Republican, Independent and Democratic voters in my district want new leadership that will prioritize education, the economy and the needs of families which have been neglected by the Idaho Legislature for too long. People are fed up watching their property taxes go up while Idaho sinks below Alabama and Mississippi in education. Voters understand that good paying jobs will not come, or even stay in Idaho when it is among the lowest in average wages.
